What should I do now?

Crime, threat, or violence
  1. Move to a safe, public place if you can.
  2. Call 112. If speaking is unsafe, send a text message to 112 with your location, situation, and a description of the person involved.
  3. Do not confront or follow a suspect.
Medical emergency
  1. Call 119.
  2. Give your exact location or a nearby landmark and keep your phone's location service on.
  3. Describe what happened and whether the person is conscious and breathing.
  4. Stay on the line and follow the dispatcher's instructions.
Fire
  1. Leave immediately. Use stairs, not an elevator.
  2. Once you are in a safe place, call 119.
  3. Give the exact building name, address, floor, and nearby landmark if known.
Lost or need non-urgent help
  1. For travel information or interpretation, call 1330.
  2. Ask hotel, station, shop, or police staff to help identify your current location.
  3. Do not share passport or payment details with unknown callers.

What to tell the dispatcher

  • Your exact location, building name, floor, or nearest landmark
